Dr. Wong was the Production Engineering Advisor and Principal Technical Expert in Sand Control and Sand Management at Shell E&P Company - Upstream Production Deepwater. He has 17 years of R&D and 14 years of deepwater development and production experiences. His external publications include experimental and modeling works in areas of sand control completion design & evaluation for producers and injectors, production operations guidelines on bean-up and ramp-up, fracture mechanics for both consolidated and unconsolidated sand formation, field in-situ stress measurements, and sand screen-formation interaction problems. He received the SPE Distinguished Membership in 2015 and the SPE Gulf Coast Regional Completion Optimization and Technology Award in 2013. George is also a registered Professional Civil Engineer from the State of California.

Well completion (design, execution practices, and evaluation) of producers and injectors; sand failure prediction/quantification, sand control, and sand management; production engineering with emphasis on bean-up and ramp-up operations guidelines; fracture mechanics for both unconsolidated and consolidated sand formation for completion and EOR applications; geomechanics, and field in-situ stress measurements.
